ASTM A335 P22 Flange Pressure–Temperature Rating
The class is not a pressure: the allowable pressure for P22 flanges comes from the ASME B16.5 table for its material group, and falls as temperature rises (how ratings work). ASTM A182 F22 is in material group 1.10. Group 1.10 applies to A182 F22 Class 3. Chrome-moly welds usually need PWHT; the code sets thickness exemptions.
Take the actual pressures from the B16.5 rating table for group 1.10. A class is not a project pressure rating — your piping class sheet and design conditions govern.
Bolting & Gaskets for P22 Flanges
For ASTM A335 P22 flanges the usual bolting is ASTM A193 B7 studs with A194 2H nuts; B16 with Gr 4 or 7 nuts where the temperature calls for it.
