What to know before ordering to ASTM B127
The points that decide whether material to ASTM B127 is accepted at inspection.
- Tempers range from annealed to quarter-hard and half-hard for sheet and strip.
- Monel 400 is the standard choice for seawater, brackish water and hydrofluoric acid service.
- Seamless pipe in the same alloy is ASTM B165.
How ASTM B127 fits into an order
A purchase order line is only complete when it names the material standard, the dimensional standard and the inspection document. Miss one and the mill, the inspector and the buyer can each read the order differently.
