What to know before ordering to EN 1092-1
The points that decide whether material to EN 1092-1 is accepted at inspection.
- PN flanges do not bolt to ASME Class flanges; check the bolt circle.
- Facings are designated Type A (flat), B1/B2 (raised) and others.
- Material groups follow EN steel names such as 1.4404 (316L).

How EN 1092-1 fits into an order
A purchase order line is only complete when it names the material standard, the dimensional standard and the inspection document. Miss one and the mill, the inspector and the buyer can each read the order differently.

EN 1092-1 — questions buyers ask
What does EN 1092-1 cover?
The European standard for steel flanges, designated by PN pressure rating (PN2.5 to PN400) and by type numbers such as Type 01 (plate), 05 (blind), 11 (weld neck) and 12 (slip-on hubbed).
Does EN 1092-1 specify the material?
No. EN 1092-1 sets dimensions; the material comes from a separate specification such as ASTM A182, A105 or B564 for flanges, or A403 and B366 for fittings. A complete order names both.
Do you supply certificates to this standard?
Yes. Material is supplied with mill test certificates to EN 10204 3.1 showing the standard, grade and heat number; 3.2 with third-party inspection on request.
