What to know before ordering to ASTM A790
The points that decide whether material to ASTM A790 is accepted at inspection.
- Heat treatment and quench requirements matter for duplex; the certificate should state them.
- Tubing in the same grades is ordered to ASTM A789 instead.
- Ferrite content and impact testing are often added by oil-and-gas client specifications.
