Inconel is a family of nickel-chromium-based alloys selected for demanding environments where resistance to heat, corrosion and oxidation matters. Different Inconel grades are engineered for different combinations of temperature, corrosive exposure, strength and fabrication requirements. Inconel is not a single material specification: grade, product form, applicable material standard, dimensions, condition and documentation should be confirmed against the service and purchase requirement.
